Writerly Wisdom
Jul. 8th, 2012 01:12 amDo not Google for reviews of Part I when you're trying to finish Part II. No matter how positive they are, they will also contain at least one wrong-headed comment, willful misreading, or vicious little observation to distract you.
If you review books, or write them, or read either books or reviews, you should probably read this essay on how to write a negative review. Brilliant, insightful, and amusing. (Even if he does use "infer" instead of "imply.")
ETA Infer was correct. Do go read the essay. It's worth it.
