So why does ActiveX freak out my browser at work but not the one at home? I use IE both places. I have moderate security set both places. I use Netscape 4 at work, Windows XP Professional at home. But at work, the bloody ActiveX warning screen comes up all the time:

This page displays potentially unsafe information to an ActiveX Control. Your current security settings prohibit running controls in this manner. As a result, this page may not display correctly.

I run into this with every single e-mail on Yahoo.

Weirdly, I can pick up AOL email from the web on my work computer, but not on the one at home. (In fact, I can't run AOL at all at home.) Any reason for that? Any way to fix it?

Thanks.

The page may be trying to load some Flash advertisements. I've noticed that the Flash advertisements are coming more and more into the foray of the annoying barrage of screen blinkeys that vouch for your pennies.

Either ignore, or tell your IT ninjas that a business website you use needs an ActiveX (Possibly Flash) plugin/security enabling and you'll give them some red vines.

Thanks. I'll check with the IT guys, first preparing a pan of brownies to encourage them.

I fixed the AOL problem by installing version 8.
