If there is one person on LJ you should be reading about this election, it's [livejournal.com profile] jpmassar. His analysis is based on mathematics and economics, and it's quite different from what most of us are posting. His thoughts on Sarah Palin as bad mother. If you're like me, you'll go back and read all his political posts.

Today's post is A 2008 Presidential Election Fable: the Card Counting Team And The Craps Shooter.

I learned to shoot craps backstage at a production of Marlowe's Faustus. I played the Bad Angel, clad in a black hooded robe, death's-head makeup, and scarlet tights and leotard underneath. I've forgotten the rules now. These days, my game is backgammon, or solitaire, or dominoes.

ETA Or for games with other people, Cat (the RPG) and Apples to Apples.

I am extremely busy -- starting to get nibbles on resumes I sent in a month or more ago, doing a little freelance work, and putting together a couple of websites.

What's up with you? And what's your game?

My game is Arkham Horror, or possibly The World Ends With You. At least lately.

Still trying to figure the rules to Reality: The RPG

You know, I find it interesting that it's conservative Christians who can take teenage pregnancies in stride, while more liberal types get their panties in a bunch about it. No sense in getting upset over spilled sperm I always say.

I obsessively play solitaire on computers, but aside from that I'm dys-cardsic, and don't get into other games much. I do like Scattergories because it can involve bluffing and fabricating.

Wow, that was pretty awesome. Thank you!

(VA-VOOM.)

I don't play cards because my dad's a gambling addict, but he told me he learned how to play poker before he was eighteen in the back room of the Black Cat Cafe in Flagstaff, AZ, and he'd beat everyone's asses and take the winnings home to his mother. Because he was a Good Boy.

I am really good at Tetris.

*grins* They took away my late grandfather's Eagle Scout badge because he kept beating the other scouts at poker.

He was a helluva card player, that man. The talent for which entirely went to my brother. I am an utter disaster at games, at least by the familial standard.

I've been working more hours at a contract than I promised, and reminding myself why I quit working.

I'm not sure that I have a very favorite game anymore, but I've been turned into a video gamer as well in the past few years. The gamer boyfriend is very proud!
