“Confront a child, a puppy, and a kitten with a sudden danger; the child will turn instinctively for assistance, the puppy will grovel in abject submission, the kitten will brace its tiny body for a frantic resistance.”

Little but fierce. Feral? I found four feral kittens, even younger than that, in my garage this fall. My friend Ellen, who does feral cat trap-neuter-return, said that if they were mewing loud enough to be heard outside, they had probably lost their mom, and would probably be found by predators that night. She kept calling people until she found someone with space to foster them.

Nah - she wasn't feral at ALL. I got her when she was teeny tiny, and she just got all spunky at Amanda that day. It was goofy!

KITTY. My God, so tiny. And so badass.

That's like the Carlin routine -- "You attack a baby, it cries. You attack a puppy, it cowers. You attack a kitten, it fights! One day old and they're looking for some shit!"
